The automotive accessory technicians at Street Smart Automotive Solutions in Flowood take every step possible to ensure that your vehicle is cared for like royalty while it’s in our possession. From our vehicle protection solutions to our hands-on product training, our goal is to give you a world-class experience in every way. Let’s look at a few of the systems and processes we have in place to keep your vehicle safe and secure while we work on it.
Interior Protection Solutions
Before we even begin work on your car or truck, we protect your seat and the steering wheel with a protective cover. Our heavy-duty covers make sure that the fabrics or leather in your vehicle can’t be scuffed or damaged. Next, we put a floor mat in place to keep dust and dirt out.
Vehicle Check-In Process
After your vehicle is in our bay, we perform a check-in inspection. We walk around the vehicle to note any marks or damage on the body, wheels, tires and glass. We keep photo records of all our inspections. Next, we check the functionality of the primary electrical systems in the vehicle. We note if any warning lights are illuminated on the dash. We check that systems like the radio, parking lights, headlights and more are functioning perfectly.
Exterior and Body Protection
If we are leaning on the door sill, over the fender or into the truck, we protect those areas with heavy-duty masking tape or protective covers. This added protection prevents scuffs, scratches and chips from belt buckles, zippers and buttons.
Battery Test and Charging
With the vehicle protected, our next step is to inspect the battery. If there is corrosion around the terminals, we’ll let you know right away. We’ll test the condition and capacity of the battery with our digital tester to determine whether it is functioning properly. Ensuring that you have a strong and reliable battery is especially important during the winter when cold weather reduces the current delivery capacity of flooded lead-acid designs. If there is a problem, we can often arrange for a battery replacement right on the spot.
Once we know everything is in good condition, we connect a charger to the battery to top it up as we work on your vehicle. Opening and closing doors, the trunk or a hatch, cycling the ignition and testing circuits can drain a battery quickly. In most cases, being on the charger for an hour or two lets you leave with more charge than when you arrived.
Vehicle Check-Out
Whether we have installed a remote car starter, a new stereo system or a radar detector, we go back through the check-in notes and repeat all the tests and inspections. This process ensures that any electrical connections we had to undo are reconnected and secure and that all your vehicle’s systems are functioning the way they were when you arrived.
Vehicle Care is Crucial at Street Smart
When you return to Street Smart Automotive Solutions to pick up your vehicle, a member of our team will review the work we have done with you. We’ll explain where components are mounted and walk you through a detailed explanation of how to use the new product. If you’ve purchased a new radio with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, we’ll help get your phone connected and show you how to use it. We can explain our radar detector and laser defense solutions or sit with you while you enjoy your favorite music on an upgraded sound system. Our work isn’t done until you are comfortable and happy with your entire experience.
